Introducing Electronics Technology, IET, is a unique "hands-on" and complete kit that introduces the learner to electronics using the systems approach. This leads to a clear understanding of electronics through real-world applications. Maths or science skills are not required. IET is currently being used in UK and USA schools and brings with it a depth of teaching experience, proven reliability and performance. IET is a highly recommended way to introduce electronics to the New Zealand classroom, laboratory and workplace. IET kits are built in New Zealand.
The IET kit consists of a set of 28 Function Boards that simply plug together, completely eliminating loose components, and the needs for soldering skills. This enables the teacher to concentrate on delivering the learning and avoiding the problems inherent in other types of electronics learning materials.
The IET kit encourages the learner to follow the graded learning tasks supplied in a comprehensive 200 page illustrated WorkBook. This is arranged in four levels, starting with System Construction, moving on to System Design & Specification. A detailed 80 page Teachers Book is also supplied making the teaching effective - even for the non-specialist teacher!
At any stage in the learning, the learner has the opportunity to explore and develop their own ideas into working systems, in a virtually limitless range of applications involving heat, light, humidity, magnetic and sound sensing.
The IET kit uses industry standard nomenclature so that progression to higher learning is facilitated. Additional kits are available for Communications, Control and Computers.
Learning to understand the uses of electronics technology using IET is designed to be a pleasant experience - fun but not playtime!
Using IET, the lesser able student, as well as the talented, can be taught in the same room without problems, either individually or in team groups due to the open learning technique, clarity of the tutorials, simplicity, safety and reliability of the function boards.
The IET Kit comes in a strong, durable steel box, complete with power supply module.
It is priced to enable all schools, colleges and training rooms seeing the need to introduce an understanding of electronics for everyday use, to acquire at least one kit.
IET is a must for all Technology and Science departments as well as for On-Job trainers in processing and servicing industry as well as for Pre-employment training.
IET is safe and suitable for age 8 years upwards. Full support is offered, either by a course at our Technology Learning facility at Hutt City, or by Fax Help Line. On-site demonstrations are available on request.
